Who We Are

Oranga was co-founded in 2023 by husband and wife, Cody and Haden.

Haden is a registered nurse who has always been passionate about holistic nutrition. After working excessive overtime for several years and continuing that pattern throughout COVID-19, Haden reached a point of burnout that forced her to finally take a hard look at her health and wellbeing. She made the decision to quit her job at the end of 2022 and started the new year off solely focusing on self-care, beginning with holistic nutrition.

After she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), she quickly realized she had been chronically undereating protein, and discovered just how difficult it is to ensure adequate intake each day. She tested many protein powder brands to help supplement her protein intake, but struggled finding the right one for her. Whey and egg-based protein products caused incessant bloating and digestion problems. Pea protein products were more easily digestible for her. However, many brands neglected taste and the products contained soy, processed seed oils, and added sugars. Thus, Haden decided to create her own.

With Cody being a digital marketer and experienced with successful start-up companies, they made a perfect pair (in marriage and in business)! Together they went on a once in a lifetime anniversary trip to New Zealand where they got to experience the beauty of nature and learn about the local Māori language and culture. This is where Oranga was born. Oranga in Māori translates to health and wellbeing or life and good living.
